Crocheting

In my own words, crocheting is not made for women. Many people think that is it for women. But to clear everything up to those are getting the misleading of what crocheting is about, it is a wonderful craft to challenge yourself to be creative.

Crocheting is used with yarn and a hook with a stick and possible needle if you are needing to assemble like granny squares. It is worked in loops and stitches.

People crochet for many reasons. The main reason for people who crochet is to reduce stress upon themselves. This gives them something to do and concentrate on what they are doing and forgetting the things they are stressed about. There are others that just do it out of boredom, but it helps at the end of the day because you are releasing your stress as well as creating something that you thought you never had done before.

In 2000, I took up crocheting because I saw my ex was crocheting and thought it was interesting. He taught me how to crocheting the basics. I saw myself purchasing other crocheting patterns and learned the rest for myself.

Many years ago people would see many women crocheting. It has been seen as a feminine hobby. Grandma used to always rock back and forth in her rocker with her crocheting needles (or knitting needles) and would start working away with her hobby. Today's day of age, you will notice that you will see many boys and girls crocheting as well as more men. it has become an every day hobby.

Some people end up throwing out their yarn materials to keep them from having cluthered. I think it depends on how much material you would have. If you have enough that it isn't worth throwing out, then keep it. Many people keep their materials and use it for odds and ends. I have a friend who kept his leftover yarn and used it for making an afghan. (See picture) If you think that there is a possibility that you are not going to use the extra materials, give the materials away for donations, that same goes with materials that you have for a while. Yes, there are people who buy balls of yarn and have never used them. If you are not going to use them, like I said, you should give them away for charity.
